'A Romance Other Than You' revealed a script reading session that showcased the actors' excellent chemistry.
'A Romance Other Than You' [Directed by: Hwang Seung-gi, Lee Ga-ram | Written by: Yoo Su-ji | Produced by: Unichem] is a relatable real melodrama about a couple in their tenth year of dating facing unfamiliar emotions with their once-familiar partner. At the script reading session, the actors raised expectations with their perfect synchronization and passionate energy.
The first script reading was attended by directors Hwang Seung-gi and Lee Ga-ram, writer Yoo Su-ji, and actors Seo Gang-jun, Ahn Eun-jin, Lee Joo-an, Cho A-ram, Kim Mi-kyung, Kim Nam-hee, Lee Min-jae, and Lee Jun-hyuk. The actors breathed reality into their respective characters and exchanged lines while building up the melodramatic narrative.
Seo Gang-jun, playing Nam-goong Ho, an associate at Hunmin Confectionery's TF Snack 3 Team, captivated the set with his characteristic warm and cheerful charm. He delicately expressed everything from the warmth of looking only at his partner for ten years to the complex emotions of gradually wavering between love and trust. Ahn Eun-jin, playing film director Lee Mi-do, also densely portrayed the complex psychology of a character who achieved her dreams but wavers before the walls of reality. The two completed the familiarity and comfort unique to a ten-year couple with a perfect back-and-forth rhythm, displaying genuine couple chemistry.
The activities of characters who would create waves in the once-solid relationship were also striking. Lee Joo-an, playing Han Tae-seung, a lawyer from the film company who notified Mi-do of her dismissal and a realistic, ambitious character, drew the role with a weighty presence. While coolly pressuring Mi-do, he raised tension with emotional shifts that captured attention. Cho A-ram, playing Park Su-a, a junior colleague at Hunmin Confectionery who appeared before Nam-goong Ho, vividly expressed hidden reverse charm behind a cold first impression. The two foreshadowed a realistic four-person dynamic alongside Seo Gang-jun and Ahn Eun-jin.
The presence of supporting characters also shone. Kim Mi-kyung, playing Mi-do's mother Ma Suk-hee, maintained composure with warmth and sharp candor, while Kim Nam-hee as older brother Lee Young-do and Lee Min-jae as younger brother Lee Wan-do added laughter with genuine sibling chemistry. Lee Jun-hyuk, playing Eom Ho-sik, a team leader at Hunmin Confectionery's TF Snack 3 Team and Nam-goong Ho's superior, is expected to resonate with real office workers' experiences while serving as a source of vitality with his cheerful energy.
