Survival variety show 'Ideological Verification Zone: The Community' returns with its second season titled 'The Community 2: The Invisible Hand'.
Wavve announced its full launch on the 29th by releasing a teaser poster.
Season 1, which touted itself as Korea's first ideology-based survival show, drew excessive engagement by shedding light on how individuals with different values and worldviews form power and politics. After its conclusion, it gained word-of-mouth popularity and rose to the top in attracting new paid subscribers, creating a reverse myth. It also received recognition for its quality by winning the Best Entertainment and Educational Program Award at the 3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards.
'The Community 2: The Invisible Hand' is a social experiment survival show where participants holding different resources compete for survival and prize money through trading. Following the previous broadcast that dealt with ideological and value conflicts, this season has expanded to show participants creating new order by repeating trading and cooperation, conflict and choice.
The released teaser poster captures participants sitting around a large table with documents and laptops spread out. The appearance of participants wearing different colored clothes—white, blue, red, and black—along with the phrase "Welcome to the Free Trade Zone" reveals the show's new identity.
The subtitle 'The Invisible Hand' refers to the core of this season, where market principles formed through participants' autonomous trading and choices determine the direction of the community. It raises the question of whether participants can maintain their beliefs even in the face of survival and profit, promising intense psychological warfare.
The production team stated that they have designed even more sophisticated and interesting scenarios, and asked viewers to anticipate unpredictable developments created by human desires and choices within endless trading for survival.
'The Community 2: The Invisible Hand' will have its exclusive premiere on Wavve in September.
