Actor Lee Jae-wook (28) is leaving his fans for a while to fulfill his military service.
Lee Jae-wook entered the recruit training center on the 18th to receive basic military training, after which he will serve as an active-duty soldier in the Army. Having enlisted quietly without a separate official ceremony, he showed a spirited demeanor the day before by posting a greeting on social media with his short haircut, saying, "I will return safely and in good health."
In particular, the heartfelt support shown by fans for Lee Jae-wook's enlistment garnered significant attention online. Fans continued to offer a warm farewell through various social media platforms, such as Instagram, by sharing highlight videos of his past activities and posting photos featuring custom cakes and messages of encouragement to celebrate his enlistment. Expressing sentiments like "Waiting is also love" and "We hope you return healthy," fans soothed their sadness in their own ways and looked forward to a reunion.
Lee Jae-wook, who debuted in 2018 with tvN's 'Memories of the Alhambra,' established an unrivaled presence through 'Search: WWW' and 'Extraordinary You.' Since then, he has solidified his position as a representative actor of his generation through passionate performances across various genres, including the 'Reincarnation' series, 'I'm Dying Soon,' 'Royal Loader,' 'Tanggeum,' and 'The Last Summer.'
His activities continue even during his military service. ENA’s new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Doctor Someboy,' which has already finished filming, is set to premiere on June 1, and the Netflix original series 'Honey Part-time Job' is scheduled to be released in the second half of the year. The news of his continuing projects even after enlistment is expected to soothe fans' disappointment regarding his hiatus due to military service.
Lee Jae-wook, who will faithfully fulfill his military service, is scheduled to be discharged on November 14, 2027.
