The Spark Fighters from baseball variety show 'Spark Baseball 2' achieved a shutout victory against Seongnam High School, a powerhouse in high school baseball.
In episode 10 of 'Spark Baseball 2' released on the 13th on Studio C1's official YouTube channel, the Spark Fighters defeated Seongnam High School 6:0, securing their fifth victory, powered by strong performances from the lower batting order and excellent pitching by their pitchers.
Starting pitcher Shin Jae-young showcased his ace form with 8 strikeouts and no runs allowed through the first half of the 6th inning. Lee Dae-eun, who followed, successfully managed the crisis without allowing any runs, and Oh Seung-hwan, who took the mound in the 9th inning, closed out the game without surrendering any points, establishing a major milestone of 550 combined saves across Korea, the United States, Japan, and the Spark league.
The Spark Fighters scored the opening run with Kim Jae-ho's 1-RBI two-base hit in the 5th inning. In the 7th inning, they extended their lead to 3:0 with Park Jae-wook's 1-RBI hit combined with an opponent error, and in the 8th inning, they added 3 more runs with Park Jae-wook's RBI hit and consecutive intentional walks, sealing the victory.
This episode 10 proved highly popular, surpassing 100,000 simultaneous viewers within 15 minutes of airing and recording a peak of 228,000 simultaneous viewers.
Meanwhile, 'Spark Baseball' will play their 10th in-person game of the season against Hwaseong Coreyo, the leading team in the independent league, at Gocheok Sky Dome on the 19th at 2 PM. Ticket reservations will be available on Yes24 on the 15th at 2 PM.
