MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Married Woman Killer' has released character posters of Kong Hyo-jin, Jung Joon-won, and Lee Sang-i.
'Married Woman Killer' (Planning Kwon Sung-chang / Screenplay Kim Eun-hee / Director Yoon Jong-ho, Kim Ji-hoon / Production BonFactory, Balampictures, Studio Pim), which is scheduled to premiere on the 31st, depicts the struggle of a working mother with the world's most brutal job to maintain work-life balance.
The released poster contains the confrontational structure of Yu Bo-na (played by Kong Hyo-jin), Kwon Tae-sung (played by Jung Joon-won), and Lee Dong-jin (played by Lee Sang-i), who hold different beliefs, sparking curiosity about the narrative these three characters will create. A killer Yu Bo-na who punishes criminals, social affairs reporter Kwon Tae-sung who tracks down the truth of incidents to the end, and detective Lee Dong-jin who is destined to catch criminals—three people implementing justice in their own ways unfold in a breathtaking chase.
Yu Bo-na gazes coldly ahead while gripping a sniper rifle. Like a one-shot-one-kill sniper who subdues vicious criminals with a single shot from a distance, the rooftop with its open view becomes the stage announcing her glamorous return to active duty. Her flawless all-black outfit and the phrase "Okay, shall we go?" reveal the killer's instincts in full. Next, Kwon Tae-sung captures attention with eyes that cross persistence and emptiness. The employee ID hanging from his neck represents the sense of mission of a passionate journalist pursuing truth, but his sharp question "Kingfisher for sure?" as a former dedicated reporter covering Kingfisher brings past memories of halting all coverage due to some incident to the surface, creating tension.
Lee Dong-jin takes a flawless stance, aiming his pistol and burning his will to apprehend criminals. Having overcome the tragedy of his school days and choosing the path of a detective rather than private vigilantism, his police civil servant ID reveals his destiny to uphold law and justice. The phrase "Nice to see you, Kingfisher!" implicitly shows his long-lasting pursuit instinct and persistence, foreshadowing an unavoidable head-to-head confrontation.
The production team stated, "This character poster aims to show the contrast of three people with different beliefs in a single space—the rooftop," and added, "The complexly intertwined relationships of the three people centered on Kingfisher will provide fresh entertainment, and we hope you look forward to their chase as they precariously cross between the everyday domains of spouses and friends."
'Married Woman Killer', based on the popular Kakao webtoon of the same name, will premiere on July 31st at 9:50 PM.
