In MBC's 'Dr. Oh Eun-young's Report - Marriage Hell', the stories of a 'helicopter couple' struggling with deep conflicts over late-life parenting and their daughter's divorce trauma, along with Dr. Oh Eun-young's clear solutions, were presented.
In episode 176, which aired on the 13th, the broadcast showed a younger daughter displaying symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) following a divorce due to her ex-husband's gaslighting, verbal abuse, and violence, and parents who have deepened their conflicts while raising their granddaughter on behalf of their daughter in such distress.
Dr. Oh Eun-young diagnosed the younger daughter's condition, which had deteriorated to the point of difficulty in daily life, as severe dissociative disorder and PTSD, recommending hospital treatment. At the same time, she pointed out that when the daughter had visited her family home holding her child in the past was her last call for help, and sharply noted that the parents missed that signal.
As a conclusion to late-life parenting that had escalated into marital conflict, Dr. Oh Eun-young presented a clear solution: "The primary caregiver position for the granddaughter that the parents are currently taking on must ultimately be returned to her mother, the younger daughter."
At the end of the broadcast, when the younger daughter realized her parents' sacrifice and conveyed her sincere feelings, the father shed tears, and the family agreed with Dr. Oh Eun-young's advice to overcome their wounds and restore the primary caregiver position, cautiously opening the path to reconciliation.
Meanwhile, next week's broadcast of 'Dr. Oh Eun-young's Report - Love, After Again' is scheduled to reveal updates on the 'Bag Couple'.
