Webtoon production company Jaedam Media announced that it will release "Dekalkomani," a new thriller webtoon by author Kkomabi, who is the original author of the dramas "Murderer's Dilemma" and "S Line," on Millie's Library starting from the 16th.
"Dekalkomani" is a thriller that tells the story of two men who are unaware of each other's existence but subtly influence one another. It depicts the lives of two characters—Kim Ji-hoon, an ordinary family man, and Kim Hun-ji, who is irritable toward others—as they hide their antisocial inner selves in their respective lives. The work stands out for its meticulous composition, which traces the real culprit against the backdrop of news reports of a husband murdering his wife.
Author Kkomabi has established a distinctive genre identity through works like "Murderer's Dilemma," "S Line," and "Unresolved," showcasing intricate tricks and psychological warfare. The original drama "Murderer's Dilemma" ranked first in Netflix's Global Non-English TV category, and "S Line" also received recognition for both commercial and artistic success, including being the #1 new subscriber driver on Wave and winning the music award at the Cannes International Series Festival as the first Korean work. This new work is attracting attention as a crime thriller released some 20 years after "Murderer's Dilemma."
The new work is also drawing significant interest in its potential for adaptation, based on the author's distinctive IP power. CEO Hwang Nam-yong of Jaedam Media stated, "'Dekalkomani' is a work where readers can discover new enjoyment with each rereading as it repeatedly unfolds foreshadowing and plot twists," and added, "Like author Kkomabi's existing hit works, we hope this new work will also be brought to life on screen in the future."
