Lee Jae-hwan, a member of VIXX and musical actor, has become the official face of the '2026 3rd Gyeonggi University Musical Festival (GUMF)'.
The Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation held a commissioning ceremony at the Gyeonggi Artists' House on the 28th and appointed Lee Jae-hwan as a promotional ambassador. At the event, Yoo Jung-joo, CEO of the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation, and other officials attended to present the letter of appointment and discuss activity plans.
Lee Jae-hwan has been recognized for his vocal and acting skills in numerous works including 'Dead Poets Society', 'Kinky Boots', and 'The Hunchback of Notre-Dame'. The foundation stated that his passion and professionalism demonstrated on stage align with the purpose of the event to support young artists' challenges.
CEO Yoo Jung-joo conveyed that Lee Jae-hwan's experience in establishing himself as a musical actor beyond being an idol is expected to serve as a foundation for students' growth. GUMF is an event that supports creative and performance opportunities to strengthen the capabilities of musical major students.
This year, to expand talent discovery, the number of teams advancing to the finals has been increased to 6, and a total of 6 final performances will be held in December. Beginning with participation in a summer camp in August, Lee Jae-hwan plans to conduct promotional activities to enhance public awareness.
