Director Choi Jung-gyou of 'The Devil Judge' and writers Kwon So-ra and Seo Jae-won of 'The Guest' come together to create an original world. The 'real world' with a cool, blue atmosphere and the 'realm of ghosts' filled with dead spirits, depicted in red and desolate tones, create a stark visual contrast that heightens immersion. The writers have intricately transformed settings of ghost hunters from Korean folklore and folk traditions, weaving them into the story. The visual and narrative contrast between the two worlds further intertwines character relationships while injecting tension.

#3 Meticulous Production Design to VFX and Intense Action, Masterfully Executed Direction

Production design that naturally incorporates fantasy elements into Korea's unique aesthetic sensibility provides visual entertainment. While the restrained beauty of the palace intersects with the contrasting imagery of the ghost realm, diverse action sequences utilizing camera movement and VFX technology drive the drama's catharsis. The lighting, music, and costumes that maximize the actors' energy further enhance the genre's appeal.

<East Palace> is available exclusively on Netflix today (17th).
