In the 34th episode of "Kim Joo-ha's Day and Night" airing on the 18th, Gu Hye-sun discusses her eco-friendly hair roller business, which has recently garnered attention for selling out. Addressing price controversies, she explains, "Factory processing is difficult, so we go through up to four stages of handmade processing." She confesses, "As someone who worked in the arts, I was accustomed to subjective value, but through business, I finally learned about money." Additionally, regarding past criticisms of "habitual lying" or "speaking carelessly," she calmly acknowledged, "I'm naturally lazy by nature, so I have to say things out loud to make an effort to keep them, and eventually they become reality."
She also shares candid reflections on her work as a film director of 20 years. While Gu Hye-sun says all her directed works "have failed," she reveals a solid inner strength, stating, "Thanks to those failures, I gained depth and resilience, and I'm no longer afraid of failure."

She explains that she lived calmly without being concerned about others' eyes, even using shared shower facilities, stating, "Cleaning finished in just one minute, and living in a goshiwon made me realize that humans don't need as many possessions as we think." In fact, she wore the same clothes for six years from undergraduate to graduate school, adding, "My mom's wish is that I finally buy some clothes," which drew laughter from the audience.
The decisive turning point for pursuing such an extreme minimalist lifestyle stems from her experience of anaphylactic shock in the past, which made her confront life and death, as well as the experience of organizing possessions while raising a pet.
