The Busan International Comedy Festival, Asia's first and largest comedy festival, will open its 14th edition on August 21.
The 14th Busan International Comedy Festival (hereinafter "Busan Comedy Fest") will be held across Busan for ten days from August 21 to August 30, with ticket reservations currently available through NOL Interpark.
As legendary comedians representing South Korea, rising stars, and global artists prepare to take the stage, Busan Comedy Fest released its official poster on the 20th. The back view of the characters Funny and Buddy heading towards the stage in the poster conveys the serious atmosphere of backstage. This symbolizes the fierce deliberation and effort of creators hidden behind comedy, and the shadow of the number 14 created by the stage lights naturally communicates the 14-year journey of the festival. An official from the organizing committee said they hope for much cheering and applause, stating that the poster captures the hard work of comedians behind the laughter.
Busan Comedy Fest will begin with the opening ceremony at BEXCO Auditorium on August 21 and deliver cheerful energy throughout Busan. The opening ceremony, hosted by Ji Seok-jin, will be graced by numerous domestic and international comedians.
In addition to the Malza Show & Gag Concert Gala Show, domestic drawing performance team Croquis Brothers and international comedian Patrick Cottet Moigne from Mime de Lyon are expected to make audiences laugh. The congratulatory performance by popular band QWER will also add to the festive atmosphere.
