'Collective' Draws 5.94 Million Viewers, Launches Simultaneous IPTV·VOD Service in Theaters

The movie 'Collective' is expanding its audience by launching VOD services to home viewers.

The film 'Collective' (directed by Yeon Sang-ho, provided/distributed by Showbox, produced by Wow Point and Smilegate, co-produced by Midnight Studio) will begin simultaneous theatrical and IPTV/cable TV VOD services starting on the 23rd. It will be released through various IPTV platforms including Genie TV, Btv, and U tv, as well as digital cable TV, Wave, Apple TV, Coupang Play, Watcha, Google TV, YouTube, and other online and mobile platforms.

'Collective' tells the story of isolated survivors trapped in a sealed building during a mysterious infection outbreak, fighting against evolving infected beings. The film gained early attention by being invited to the midnight screening at the 79th Cannes Film Festival, and received critical acclaim for its zombies that evolve through collective intelligence and the passionate performances of the cast, achieving the No. 1 box office position for 20 consecutive days following its release. It set a record for the fastest commercial success of the year, surpassing 1 million viewers on day 4, 2 million on day 5, 3 million on day 10, and 4 million on day 14 of its opening.

Following 'The Man Living with the King,' 'Collective' secured the No. 2 position on the 2026 overall film box office and continues to be available to audiences through theaters nationwide as well as IPTV and VOD services.
