Netflix is connecting with baseball fans around the world through live coverage of the 2026 Major League Baseball (MLB) T-Mobile Home Run Derby.
On the 14th at 9 a.m. (Korea time), Netflix will broadcast live the 2026 MLB T-Mobile Home Run Derby taking place at Citizens Bank Park, the home stadium of the Philadelphia Phillies. With the Major League All-Star Game being held in Philadelphia for the first time in 30 years, anticipation is running high, and some game formats have been newly revised to promise an intense competition.
This year, eight power hitters leading the league in home runs will compete for the home run king title. A total of eight players will participate, including Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper of the Philadelphia Phillies, as well as Junior Caminero (Tampa Bay Rays), Ben Rortvedt (New York Yankees), Jordan Walker (St. Louis Cardinals), Wilson Contreras (Boston Red Sox), Munetaka Murakami (Chicago White Sox), and Jack Caglionne (Kansas City Royals).
Netflix will collaborate with the MLB Network production team to jointly produce not only the game broadcast but also pre-game and post-game programming. The broadcast will be provided in four languages: Korean, English, Spanish, and Japanese, with Korean commentary featuring commentator Kim Hyung-joon and caster Kim Myung-jeong. Will Ferrell, Luke Wilson, and Jimmy Tatro, the starring actors of "The Godfather" premiering on Netflix on the 16th, will join as special pre-game guests alongside ring announcer Michael Buffer to highlight the players' entrances.
Netflix previously drew positive response from baseball fans by live-streaming the opening game between the San Francisco Giants and New York Yankees. The company continues to expand its live streaming genre by broadcasting various sporting events including professional wrestling WWE matches, the heavyweight bout between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, and the F1 Canadian Grand Prix. Meanwhile, following the T-Mobile Home Run Derby live coverage on the 14th, Netflix will broadcast the "MLB at Field of Dreams" featuring the Minnesota Twins and Philadelphia Phillies on August 14th.
