SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Kim's Department Manager' continues its box office run, dominating all indicators including viewership ratings, buzz, and global OTT rankings.
'Kim's Department Manager' (written by Nam Dae-joong, directed by Lee Seung-young and Lee So-eun, planned by Studio S, produced by Studio S andFantazio) Episode 6 recorded 23.2% in the Seoul metropolitan area, 22.3% nationwide, and a peak of 26.4% based on Nielsen Korea, marking its highest viewership rating. The figure ranks 2nd in SBS Friday-Saturday drama history, and the 2049 viewership rating also soared to a high of 9.3%, proving a strong syndrome effect.
The global performance is overwhelming. The drama claimed the #1 position in the non-English TV show category for 2 consecutive weeks on Netflix's official Tudum global TOP10 rankings. It topped the charts in 22 countries including South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Peru, and appeared in the TOP10 of 72 countries total. In domestic buzz surveys, it recorded 1st place in the TV-OTT drama category for 2 consecutive weeks, while Seo Ji-seop claimed both the top position in cast buzz and July actor brand reputation ranking. Seo Su-min and Yoon Kyung-ho also entered the TOP5 in buzz rankings.
In the recent broadcast, Kim Bu-jang (Seo Ji-seop), Sung Han-su (Choi Dae-hoon), and Park Jin-chul (Yoon Kyung-ho) fought hard to rescue Min-ji (Seo Su-min) who was captured by the special operations unit. As Kim Bu-jang's dialogue facing his daughter left a deep impression, anticipation is high for whether they will successfully complete the rescue in the midst of the battlefield.
