The movie 'Hope' has unveiled a special effects behind-the-scenes video.
The movie 'Hope' (director/screenplay Na Hong-jin, production Posed Films, co-production Plus M Entertainment and Westworld Inc., presented/distributed by Plus M Entertainment), which continues its box office success this summer, has released a special effects behind-the-scenes video documenting the process of implementing overwhelming action sequences.
Director Na Hong-jin and cinematographer Hong Kyung-pyo designed camera movements and mise-en-scène that capture the play of light by utilizing natural daylight. To this, the special effects team XM2, which has participated in renowned overseas action films, joined forces to implement original action sequences.
The released video captures the completion of horse riding action, chase scenes, and car chasing utilizing electric bikes, wire cameras, and a slider system running at 200 km/h. By crossing between the deep forests of Retezat in Romania and domestic locations such as Haenam, Hapcheon, and Jeju Island, the film captures awe-inspiring landscapes adding visual richness. The dynamic chase scenes racing through villages and the multi-dimensional perspective capturing unknown entities convey visual catharsis.
