Actors Jung Hae-in and Ha-young will portray a cheerful and sweet cohabitation romance in Netflix's new series.
In the Netflix series "Love Like a Bitter Candy" (directed by Kim Jang-han), Ha-young plays prosecutor Ko Eun-sae who suffers from amnesia, while Jung Hae-in takes on the role of boxing coach Jang Tae-ha, who claims to be her boyfriend. "Love Like a Bitter Candy" is a romantic comedy depicting the two's intimate cohabitation life.
Huh Sung-tae joins Jung Hae-in and Ha-young's pure romance, adding chewy tension and immersion. Along with laughter and emotion, the faces of the people in Yeot Village are also revealed.
Kim Young-ok takes on the role of Ko Yeon-hong, a traditional candy artisan and the grandmother of Jang Tae-ha who suffers from dementia. Actor Jeon Bae-soo plays Hong Do-yeop, the director of Hong Boxing Gym, and Seo Jung-yeon plays his wife Do Jung-hwa, becoming their reliable supporters. Jang Hye-jin (as Peng Hee-ja), Cha Chung-hwa (as Jo Maeng-suk), and Kim Mi-hwa (as Na Geum-hyang) work as the three musketeers of Yeot Village, delivering delightful laughs. Additionally, Lee Jae-won (as Ahn Ki-joon), Jung Soon-won (as Kim Gang-rok), and Choi Yu-ju (as Min Su-ji) join to complete the diverse daily life of Yeot Village.
Director Kim Jang-han explained the casting by saying that the people of Yeot Village are characters who discover themselves and grow through the new stimulation of Jang Tae-ha and Ko Eun-sae. He added that it was a warm set filled with ad-libs and laughter as people with similar characteristics came together, and asked audiences to look forward to various entertaining elements including strength and lovable aspects.
The Netflix series "Love Like a Bitter Candy" will be released on August 7.
