Group UNIS is taking the lead in dominating the K-pop industry this summer with a refreshing and crisp sensibility.
On the 17th, UNIS exclusively released the music video for the title track 'GimmeSummer☆' from their first Japanese mini album 'UNI☆Sparkle!' through their official SNS channel. Shot against the backdrop of Okinawa's blue seas and exotic streets, this music video amplifies the summer's signature refreshing atmosphere by harmonizing with the members' vibrant charm.
The music video captures the radiant youth and strong friendship of UNIS on a school trip. It depicts the members making precious memories, such as relaxing on the beach and enjoying fireworks, while adding a directorial touch that resembles looking through a camcorder screen, preserving its distinctive analog sensibility.
The new song performance was also revealed for the first time. Choreographer Makita Sako, who sparked various dance challenge trends in Japan, took charge of the choreography, completing signature moves that maximize UNIS's energetic and lively charm. The title track 'GimmeSummer☆' is UNIS's first summer song, capturing the real youth of girls busy with both love and friendship and the excitement of summer from the members' perspective.
This first Japanese mini album incorporates Y2K mood pop culture, showcasing UNIS's sparkling charm. In addition to the title track, the album includes a total of five songs: B-side 'BBYBBY', previously released digital singles, and a Japanese version of 'SWICY'.
UNIS's first Japanese EP 'UNI☆Sparkle!' will be officially released on the 31st.
