Actor Ji Sung launches into an unimaginable election campaign that will shake up the entire apartment complex president election.
In the 3rd episode of JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Apartment' (written by Kim Yun-young, directed by Cho Yong-won, produced by SLL and Red Nine Pictures), which airs today (18th), Park Hae-gang (played by Ji Sung), who has thrown his hat into the ring for the position of apartment complex president, is depicted conducting fierce campaign activities as if running a presidential election.
The 2nd episode, which aired on the 12th, recorded the highest viewership rating of 6.5% per minute (based on Nielsen Korea's Seoul metropolitan area ratings) and set a new personal record, while also reaching the top spot on Netflix's 'South Korea TOP 10 Series,' signaling a box office boom. In the previous 2nd episode, Park Hae-gang, who confirmed the apartment complex's long-term reserve fund of 17.8 billion won, enters into a fake contract with Kang Ha-ri (played by Ha Yun-kyung) and forms a fake family with Lizard (played by Kim Won-hae), Kim Kyung-nam (played by Jung Soon-won), Jang Je-gil (played by Hwang Hee), and Big Twin (played by Kim Kyu-won), beginning preparations for the election.
In the 3rd episode, Park Hae-gang, dressed in a pink outfit engraved with the text "Park Hae-gang for apartment president," sets up a large campaign vehicle in the middle of the complex and appeals for votes while dancing with a microphone in hand. Joining him are Lizard, Kim Kyung-nam, Jang Je-gil, Big Twin, and fake son Kim Kyung-buk (played by Kim Han-gyeol), performing a group election dance to heat up the atmosphere at the scene. All eyes are on whether Park Hae-gang can win the support of the picky residents in this first step—the apartment president election—to save father-like Yong-man and protect his younger siblings. During filming, Ji Sung expressed his high spirits with a loud voice that made the staff burst into laughter, while Kim Won-hae, Jung Soon-won, Hwang Hee, and Kim Kyu-won completed a pleasant set with their perfect chemistry and witty ad-libs.
The production team said, "In the 3rd episode, Park Hae-gang and his fake family encounter difficulties in what they thought would be an easy apartment president election," and added, "Ji Sung's exceptional acting prowess in leading the apartment complex president election—which everyone tries to avoid—as seriously and fiercely as a presidential election, along with the fantastic back-and-forth banter of the fake family crew, will deliver an exhilarating catharsis to viewers, so please anticipate this entertaining set."
JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Apartment' episode 3 will air on Saturday, July 18th at 10:40 PM.
