Actor Joo Sang-wook overwhelmed home viewers by perfectly capturing the human vulnerabilities of a villainous character.
On episodes 7 and 8 of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Kim's Team' (written by Nam Dae-joong, directed by Lee Seung-young and Lee So-eun, planned by Studio S, produced by Studio S and Fantazio) that aired on the 17th and 18th, Joo Sang-wook delivered a powerful performance as Joo Kang-chan, the chairman of a construction company with a background as a hired thug.
Upon learning that Kim Bu-jang (played by So Ji-seop) had taken away Kim Min-ji (played by Seo Su-min), Joo Kang-chan ordered Director Nam (played by Lee Dong-ha) to pursue them while exuding intimidation, while displaying twisted affection toward his daughter Joo Hye-ri (played by Yoo Ji-an).
The highlight of this broadcast was Joo Kang-chan's collapse in a direct confrontation with Kim Bu-jang. After being physically overpowered and covered in blood, Joo Kang-chan fled only to end up on his knees in humiliation, vividly expressing his misery and desperation. However, as Joo Kang-chan ruminated over his disgrace, he approached a North Korean bigwig and proposed escalating the situation further by asking him to cut off his rival's breath directly, bringing the tension to its peak.
With only 2 episodes remaining until the series finale, attention is focused on the desperate recklessness that Joo Sang-wook will display. The SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Kim's Team' airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m.
