Broadcaster Kim Dae-ho sought medical attention due to a sudden deterioration in his condition during his journey through Ethiopia.
In the MBC Every One program "The Great Guide 3" that aired on the 21st, Park Myung-soo, Kim Dae-ho, Choi Daniel, and Lee Mu-jin were shown moving to Danakil in the north, known as the "land of death," after completing their schedule in Addis Ababa. The broadcast on the 21st recorded first place in the simultaneous time slot among terrestrial and cable channels in the Nielsen Korea nationwide ratings for women in their 40s.
In Addis Ababa, Park Myung-soo purchased Korean dishes such as soybean paste stew and grilled pork belly for his fellow cast members, creating a warm atmosphere. They then visited a famous local café to purchase coffee beans and experienced local culture at Merkato, Africa's largest market, under police protection.
The members then headed to Danakil, which has an average elevation of minus 100 meters above sea level and maximum temperatures reaching 60 degrees Celsius. Accompanied by a local Afar guide, they enjoyed spectacular scenery, encountering oases and camel herds.
However, during the journey, Kim Dae-ho complained of sudden headaches and nausea and showed signs of vomiting. The team members and production staff grew concerned at Kim Dae-ho's unexpected condition, and filming was halted as he was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
In a preview at the end of the broadcast, the cast was shown entering Erta Ale, an active volcano and their final destination, heightening interest in the exploration to come.
MBC Every One's "The Great Guide 3" airs every Tuesday at 9:30 p.m.
