Twin trot duo Wink left a deep impression on KBS1's 'Gaio Mudae.'
Wink appeared on the July 27th broadcast of KBS1's 'Gaio Mudae' 'July Request Song' episode. They shared the stage with singers spanning generations, including Bae Il-ho, Kim Yong-im, Soo Wa-jin, and Choi Jin-hee.
On this day, Wink took the stage wearing a pure white dress adorned with delicate lace and pearl decorations. They captivated audiences with an elegant appearance, featuring an upswept hairstyle and elaborate hair accessories.
'Mapo Terminal,' the selected song, is a signature track by the Silvery Bells released in 1968. It is a masterpiece capturing the sorrowful longing for a departed lover against the backdrop of the now-disappeared Mapo streetcar terminal.
Wink expressed the song's nostalgia through their rich vocal tone and delicate emotional expression. True to their long-established duo harmony, they completed the lyrical atmosphere abundantly with seamless harmonies and stable vocal performances.
Contrary to their existing vibrant image, they radiated a composed and mature charm, proving their musical spectrum that encompasses traditional trot as well.
Composed of Kang Ju-hee and Kang Seung-hee, Wink debuted in 2008 with 'Destined Connection.' They were beloved for songs such as 'Boob-boob,' 'Eol-ssu,' and 'Atta Go-geot-cham,' and continue their activities through various performances following the release of 'Spring of Happiness' last year.
