Actress Gong Hyo-jin points a gun at a criminal during her first mission after returning to work.
MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Housewife Killer' (Planned by Kwon Sung-chang / Written by Kim Eun-hee / Directed by Yoon Jong-ho and Kim Ji-hoon / Produced by Bonpactory, Baram Pictures, and Studio Pim) depicts the struggles of a working mother with the most brutal job in the world.
In stills released ahead of the premiere, Gong Hyo-jin as Yu Bo-na, who sets out to punish criminals, and Jung Jun-won as Kwon Tae-sung, a reporter pursuing the truth behind a drug case, are featured.
Yu Bo-na, played by Gong Hyo-jin, returns to work after three years of parental leave and goes on her first mission on the roof of a church. Her target is a criminal staying at a hotel across the way. With support from her team, Gong Hyo-jin as Yu Bo-na heads to the rooftop, equips her signature sniper rifle, and steadily prepares for the shot.
Kwon Tae-sung, played by Jung Jun-won, rushes to the scene to uncover the reality of a new drug case. He infiltrates a nightclub and chases criminals with sharp intuition, and even visits the police station to bombard them with questions. Eventually, he even stays out all night and receives reproach from his wife, Yu Bo-na, played by Gong Hyo-jin.
Additionally, Yu Bo-na's past mission is revealed. She prepares to eliminate Oh Man-seok, played by Kim Won-hae, who was released on Christmas Day. In a precarious situation where he even grabs his daughter by the collar, attention focuses on why he became a target.
The production team asked viewers to focus on the process and meaning of the legendary sniper picking up a gun again after a long hiatus. They also asked viewers to watch how the reporter's pursuit of truth connects to the case.
MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Housewife Killer' airs its premiere tonight (the 31st) at 9:50 p.m.
