Actress Lee Min-jung portrays a realistic picture of marriage and divorce.
"Yes, Let's Divorce" (directed by Joo Sung-woo, written by Hwang Ji-eon, produced by Canvas N), set to premiere at 11 p.m. on August 19, is a drama that depicts the real divorce experience of a married couple who are the owners of a wedding dress shop, seeking to put an end to their exhausted marriage.
Lee Min-jung takes on the role of Baek Mi-young, the representative of a wedding dress shop. In the released first still cuts, Baek Mi-young demonstrates her professional side as someone who loves her work, while also displaying an anxious gaze that heightens the tension. The drama raises curiosity about what shadows may be hidden behind the happy married life with her husband Ji-won-ho (played by Kim Ji-seok).
Lee Min-jung revealed her reason for appearing in the drama, saying, "I was drawn to the realistic story of people truly finding each other and genuine love." Regarding her character, she explained, "She is someone who tries to handle everything alone and carries sadness and pain by herself. I think our synchronization is high since her tendency not to rely on others is similar to mine."
She also shared her efforts to express a character who is a workaholic and a member of an unstable household. Lee Min-jung said, "I referenced stories from wedding dress company representatives who actually ran businesses, and imagined the past narratives of Baek Mi-young and Ji-won-ho by writing them like a diary."
Regarding her co-star Kim Ji-seok, she praised him, saying, "We had great chemistry. He was really well-suited to the role and brought out even more layers."
Finally, Lee Min-jung directed the keyword "another beginning" toward "Yes, Let's Divorce," saying, "Since this is a story that begins again at what seems like the end, I hope many people will join us."
"Yes, Let's Divorce" will premiere at 11 p.m. on August 19.
