The Spark Fighters defeated Whimun High School to secure victory.
In episode 12 of the baseball variety show "Spark Baseball 2" released on the official YouTube channel of Studio C1 on the afternoon of the 3rd, the Spark Fighters achieved a dominant 13:4 victory, leading with additional runs and Shin Jae-young's pitching prowess.
The Spark Fighters opened the scoring with Lee Taek-geun's go-ahead solo home run in the bottom of the 2nd inning. In the bottom of the 3rd, they added 3 more runs by exploiting Whimun High School's defensive vulnerabilities, and in the bottom of the 4th, they secured an 8:1 lead with Jung Geun-woo's RBI hit, Lee Dae-ho's intentional walk, and consecutive RBI hits from Jung Sung-hoon and Jung Ui-yoon.
After Lee Dae-eun, who followed Yoo Hee-gwan on the mound, allowed consecutive hits and gave up 2 runs in the top of the 5th inning, Manager Kim Sung-geun brought in Shin Jae-young. Shin Jae-young extinguished the immediate crisis with 2 strikeouts, overcame the situation after allowing 1 more run, and struck out again.
In the bottom of the 6th, the Fighters made it 9:4 with Park Jae-wook's 1-RBI hit. In the bottom of the 7th, with an opportunity created by hits from Lim Tae-yoon and Moon Gyo-won, Jung-hun hit a 2-run double to further extend the score.
Shin Jae-young shut down Whimun High School's batting lineup with sharp sliders. Despite knee pain in the top of the 8th, he added 3 more strikeouts, recording 9 strikeouts against 13 batters and displaying impressive pitching. The Fighters sealed the victory in the bottom of the 8th with 1-RBI hits from Choi Su-hyun and Moon Gyo-won.
Oh Seung-hwan, who took the mound in the top of the 9th, completed a five-game winning streak by finishing the game without allowing a run, relying on strikeouts and crisis management skills.
Viewers showed enthusiastic reactions to Shin Jae-young's pitching performance and the active play of players such as Park Jae-wook and Jung-hun.
'Spark Baseball' will play its twelfth in-person game of the season against Busan High School at Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan on Saturday, August 8th at 6 PM. Ticket reservations will be held on YES24 at 2 PM today (the 4th).
