'My Remaining Love' is a dating variety show that captures the process of 20-30 year-olds who have received terminal diagnoses or survived death's door, as they face love and life anew. During the broadcast, eight cast members shared their battle diaries and diagnoses, opening up about their pain.
Among them, Kim Seon-ho recalled the time when he was diagnosed with stage 4 'anaplastic large cell lymphoma,' a type of rare blood cancer, while serving as an active-duty soldier. Mentioning pain so severe that even narcotic painkillers were ineffective, he shared, "Among those I battled with in the hospital ward and promised to have a beer together once I recovered, I was the only one who survived," drawing sympathy. However, he later revealed that after five years of treatment last year, he received a medical report from the hospital stating "you no longer need to come," confirming his complete recovery and receiving applause from the cast.
Beyond Kim Seon-ho, other young people who overcame their suffering shared their confessions. Kim Jong-eun and Jung Ye-ji, who battled acute myeloid leukemia, Seo Ro-bin, who received a bone marrow transplant from her biological sister, Kim Yun-ki, who had his entire stomach removed and continues chemotherapy, Kim Na-young, who lost hearing in her left ear due to a brain tumor, Kim Min-young, who overcame terminal osteosarcoma at age 14, and Do Gon, who endured 15 radiation treatments, all honestly opened up about their lives and wounds.
'My Remaining Love,' which began its first outing with tears and empathy as cast members acknowledged each other's pain, will develop full-fledged love lines from episode 2 onwards.
