Girl group UNIS is drawing attention from local fans by surprise-releasing a new song ahead of their Japan comeback.
On the 17th at midnight, UNIS pre-released 'GimmeSummer☆,' the title track of their first Japanese mini album 'UNI☆Sparkle!' through various online music platforms. Unlike their previous Japanese releases that showcased cute and lovely charms, this new song is characterized by highlighting the members' refreshing and vibrant energy to complete a fresh summer sensibility.
UNIS, which has built momentum for their comeback through the pre-release, will unveil the full music video for 'GimmeSummer☆' today at 7 p.m. through their official YouTube channel. Previously released teaser videos hinted at the heartfelt friendship of girls on a school trip, raising anticipation for UNIS's unique coming-of-age story.
The title track 'GimmeSummer☆' is UNIS's first summer song, capturing the real youth and excitement of summer experienced by busy girls in matters of both love and friendship from the members' perspective. The completeness of the track was enhanced by lyricists and composers Kanata Okajima and Carlos K., who have worked with BTS and other artists.
The mini album 'UNI☆Sparkle!' set to be officially released on the 31st incorporates Y2K mood Japanese pop culture throughout the album to maximize UNIS's sparkling charm. It will feature a total of five songs, including new track 'GimmeSummer☆' and B-side 'BBYBBY,' as well as previously released digital singles 'moshimoshi♡,' 'mwah…,' and the Japanese version of 'SWICY.'
