Director Na Hong-jin's new film "Hope" (HOPE) has unveiled behind-the-scenes stills directly captured by cinematographer Hong Kyung-pyo.
"Hope" (Director/Screenplay Na Hong-jin, Production Posed Films, Co-production Plus M Entertainment·Westworld Inc., Provided/Distributed by Plus M Entertainment) tells the story that begins when Beom-seok, the head of the Hopogang outpost in the demilitarized zone, hears news of a tiger's appearance and faces an unbelievable reality.
The released stills capture the overwhelming landscape of the location shoot and the intense moments of staff and actors. Photographed directly by cinematographer Hong Kyung-pyo, they convey his unique and distinctive mise-en-scène and sense of presence on set. The production team's efforts to recreate locations in Romania's Retezat, Haenam, and Hapcheon as a single space called Hopogang, along with the direction utilizing natural lighting, stand out.
